The spiritual meaning behind the emblem |
|
Rather than being offended by their ignorance as to the meaning behind the emblem, the website volunteers see it as an opportunity to educate those of our neighbors who are fairly new to the South Philadelphia community we have called home for nearly 60 years. Those who seek to be informed and not judgmental could have inquired as to the design, rather than to referring to it as a “TV” Church. What was mistaken for a “t” is actually the cross (†), which signifies the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. In its design, the crucifix purposely does not stand erect; it leans slightly, keeping us mindful of the heavy burden Christ bore for all mankind. The “V” signifies our VICTORY in Christ. The CROWN represents Christ—THE KING—and the crowns, gifts and rewards we will receive on that Great Day. The colors of the emblem are also significant: The red ribbon represents the blood of Christ. The purple signifies royalty. And the gold—a symbol of ageless endurance—reflects the tried, the true, the tested. |

… the spiritual meaning behind the emblem of the Church organization? |

Many of the bloggers on “Philly Blog”--whose thread thankfully has been |

discontinued--mocked the insignia at the front entrance of Headquarters. |
